Janet has over 30 years of bookkeeping and payroll experience working for Performance Auto Sales and  public accounting firms including the firm of Teresa D. Gruber, CPA since 2010. Janet originally started as a bookkeeper for a small accounting firm on the island of Kauai as a way to make ends meet while living the dream on the beaches and tennis courts of Hawaii. Fast forward to crystal shores of Ventura County, and her life isn't much different! Outside the office, Janet enjoys time with family, winning at tennis, & shopping for shoes,

Teresa grew up locally in sunny Camarillo, CA and attended college at California State University Long Beach, graduating in 1994. She began her career in the exciting world of accounting and taxes by working in an accounting practice specializing in payroll and bookkeeping. It was there she learned she loved doing bank reconciliations and had the knack for it.

 

Home sick for family, great weather and sparkling shores, Teresa moved back to Ventura County and continued her career at a local tax practice assisting in individual income tax preparation and passed the Enrolled Agent exam in 1995. Teresa began working for Clark C. Hubbard, CPA in late 1996. It was while working for Clark C. Hubbard and with his encouragement she furthered her studies in the world of accounting and passed the CPA exam in 2001, her CPA license soon followed. 

 

In 2005, Clark and Teresa formed their accounting partnership of Hubbard & Gruber, CPAs which happily lasted over seven years, ending with Clark's retirement on September 30, 2014. Teresa proudly took over the accounting practice as the sole owner.

 

Over 25 years and counting, Teresa continues to enjoy working in the wonderful world of accounting, taxes, and all things numeric.  She enjoys creating Excel worksheets to solve life's problems and most of all, helping clients with their tax and accounting headaches so they can focus on what they do best.  


Outside the office, Teresa enjoys spending time with family, golfing, and baking chocolate chip cookies.
